OptaJean releases 'Opta Champions League'

This week, OptaJean released their second book (in French) titled ‘Opta Champions League’, which uses detailed Opta data covering the last 15 years of Europe’s premier club football competition.

The book utilises Opta’s industry-leading historical database and includes numerous Opta graphics such as touch-maps to profile the Champions League season-by-season in chronological order since 2003.

Opta Champions League is separated into three main sections. It firstly considers the initial domination of the tournament from English sides before breaking down ‘Guardiola’s revolution’ and the success of his Barcelona team, before finally reviewing Real Madrid’s return to the pinnacle of European football with three consecutive Champions League crowns.

The title also includes a detailed comparison between two of the greatest footballers of all time, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
