Opta releases brand new Cricket Live Monitor

Ahead of an action-packed cricket calendar, Opta have released a brand new Cricket Live Monitor tool. Built to help bring cricket coverage to life, the Cricket Live Monitor is a central hub where users can access live Opta cricket data, widgets and player information on fixtures as they happen.

Exclusive features of the tool include: 

• Pre-match, live and post-match widgets that help users understand what’s happening through rich data visualisations. Widgets include Live ScorecardsManhattans, Worms, Wagon Wheels and Player/Team rankings

• In-game two-way messaging chat box gives users instant communication to our editorial teams, allowing them to ask personalised and individual queries

• Access to a live stream of Opta facts as the action unfolds (20 per day for a Test or ODI and 10-15 for a T20). Facts can be used to support predictions or previews and to construct detailed match reviews

• Access to live text commentary, in-depth player and team statistics, and detailed ball-by-ball data from competitions all over the world

• Perfect for broadcasters, rights holders, commentators and professional clubs alike


The tool will be available across Opta’s extensive cricket coverage, including this year’s World Cup. The tool is available upon request for English, Australian and Kiwi domestic competitions as well as global T20 and all international cricket formats.

Opta is the official data supplier to the ECB, ICC, Cricket Australia and New Zealand Cricket capturing full, live data for the premier competitions in cricket across the globe. As official data supplier to the ICC, Opta will be covering this summer’s Cricket World Cup, capturing detailed ball-by-ball data and providing batting, bowling and fielding data for every single ball bowled throughout the tournament.
