Opta’s data feeds help generate graphics for social media

Lagardère Sports, the global sports marketing agency, were tasked with enhancing the social media output of the AFC Champions League in order to greater engage fans with the tournament. 

Powered by Playing Surface and by utilising Opta’s data feeds to provide the content, Lagardère were able to automatically generate infographics that covered every key event in a match. This allowed detailed coverage of simultaneous kick-offs showing starting line-ups, highlighting outstanding performances and telling the story of a game. The multi-lingual capabilities of the platform help to cater to a diverse Asian audience expanding AFC's social reach to fans across the continent. 

The infographics were utilised across all digital estates to provide fans with additional insights and promote greater engagement in the tournament by keeping fans up to date and creating global discussion around the competition.
