Opta’s data feeds integrated into football coverage

dazn logoDAZN, Perform group’s OTT service, were looking to better utilise Opta data in their sports coverage for subscribers across all territories. Thanks to the wealth and breadth of Opta’s historic and live data, DAZN were able to integrate insightful analytic assets into their broadcasts, enriching their users experience along the way. 

Through using Opta’s API data feeds DAZN created graphics to drive their half-time content, Match Central. This automated programme tells the story of the game through a series of assets including live tables, scores and stats as well as Opta historic facts. Opta’s data feeds are also utilised in DAZN’s showcase events for interfaced graphics and live monitor as well as enhancing production support by adding analytic value to topic papers for live directors and commentator packs.

Opta data was also used to enhance the profile of this growing brand through the generation of assets for marketing and social channels. The provision of insightful content on these platforms has further engaged sports fans and helped to increase commercial returns.

This illustrates how Opta can work with sports broadcasters to elevate their coverage across all areas from production to social estates and engage audiences through unique and interesting insight.
