Opta help power Germany's first Smart Stadium

FC Bayern Munich, along with their partner Deutsche Telekom, were looking to modernise the Allianz Arena in an effort to engage fans through their "connected stadium" experience. Opta established a long- term partnership with the club to help power the new video walls and 1200 screens across stadium with compelling match content. 

As part of the deal Opta developed a tailor-made smart content system, in partnership with Vigital Solutions, which automatically generates match stats in real-time. During match days, a dedicated editorial team are situated on-site to produce animated live graphics, showing the latest stats and telling the fans the story behind all the numbers.

Opta also provides all infographics within the Allianz Arena during match and non-matchdays. The Smart Content System is also used by the official club TV show FC Bayern.TV live, enriching different show formats with animated graphics, stats and facts.

In August 2017 the smart content system was showcased on a global stage at the Audi Cup, where live statistics and facts were displayed on the new LED-video walls.
