JOB PURPOSE (SO WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?)

Stats Perform are looking for an Italian speaking casual data editor to join the editorial team that supports DAZN in Germany. The role will be based in Ismaning (Munich).

As a member of the data editorial team you will use your extensive sports knowledge in combination with the Opta database to produce facts and stats packs for commentators and production staff, as well as producing live content during sport events broadcasted on DAZN.

This is an entry-level opportunity for people seeking to work in the rapidly growing sports data industry. The role will require weekend and evening work and might require travelling in Germany for on-site support.


HERE’S A BREAKDOWN OF WHAT YOU’LL DO (NOT ALL OF IT, JUST THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF)

  • Produce and check editorial facts & commentator packs and give graphic suggestions for live supported events.
  • Answer editorial requests during the week from production staff and commentators.
  • Live support during games for on-screen graphics, production staff and commentators.
  • Attend production meetings to discuss ideas and plans for content shown on DAZN.


DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS (DO YOU HAVE THESE DESIRABLES?)

  • Ability to speak and write fluently in German & Italian and advanced in English.
  • A broad knowledge of European football, mainly Spain, France, Italy and Germany.
  • Knowledge about American sports is also desirable.
  • Ability to produce data-focused content to a high standard and work to tight deadlines. Accuracy is paramount.
  • Understanding of how raw data can be turned into compelling insight and sharable content.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to the changing demands of the role.
  • Must be able to work in a team and be prepared to learn on the spot and use initiative.
  • Patience, common sense and the ability to learn quickly are key attributes to this role.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new technology is vital.
  • Ability to fit the needs of football schedules, so evening and weekend shift work are to be expected.
